Legislative Watch: OETA

On Monday, the Oklahoma Senate passed Senate Bill 867. The bill would transfer all assets of the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority to the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education if OETA ever ceased to exist.

Another bill, Senate Bill 429, would require OETA to make legislative proceedings available online or on television should resources become available.

Senator Clark Jolley (R-Edmond), Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman, is the author of both bills. 

OETA is currently under fire from legislator who do not believe public television is a core function of government.
